Male Cougar Down!
« on: November 09, 2014, 09:57:09 AM »
Hey guys,

Thought I’d share some pics of my first cougar I got on Friday @ 4pm while elk hunting with some good friends. I dropped him off yesterday at the taxidermy to get a full mount.  He’s is big gorgeous cat. I’m not sure how much he weighed but it was a lot! I’m 6’1 240lbs and I had a hard time picking him up! Lol He was measured from nose to tail at 7’ exactly.

Shot him at 135 yards standing while he was laying on top of a huge rock face staring at us getting the last bit of sun.  Hit him behind the shoulder with a 338 win mag (225gr TSX). He lunged/fell off the rock face which was about a 20-25 ft drop.

There was not even one drop of blood to track! (I was shocked), he went about 25 yards.  We were able to get on some hair and drag marks that led us to him!

I’m not sure when I’ll come down from this high, still so excited!!

Chris/Jordan, thanks for all your help getting him out, couldn’t have done it without you guys!

Very good. Looks like the WDFW needs to re-examine hound hunting for cougars.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
