I went out into my usual spot again tonight for the last hour and half of light with high hopes. With about 15 minutes of light left I start to hear crunching in the snow. My bad luck strikes again. It is coming from directly behind the brush I am sitting in. Out of the corner of my eye I see a deer walking out within 10 yards of where I am sitting. Just as he is clearing the brush I try to slowly turn my head to get a view and see what it is. With the smallest of movement he spots me. I could only see one side of his rack and it was at least a 3 point. He stood for about 10 seconds took a couple of more steps while watching me and then turned back around and went into the brush. He walked in and out the brush about 5 times, each time getting a little closer to me, trying to figure out what I was. The last time he came walking out he was right on top of me, within 5 yards. He finally smelled me and ran off. I had to sit completely still and had no chance to get a shot. Incredibily frustrating and exciting at the same time. I left a few apples and snuck out hoping he will come back tomorrow. What do you guys think, will he come back or do you think he will be too scared? He didn't snort, just jumped back and ran off. I have been watching does and a button buck in this field almost every night. One night I had a 2 point come out but it was too dark. Go out again tomorrow and see if I can get lucky.
