3D target
« on: November 09, 2014, 09:17:11 PM »
I just bought a new Diamond Razor edge for my 9yo daughter that she will receive for Christmas. I hope to have her ready to hunt within 1 or 2 years. With that in mind, I am thinking about buying a 3D target for both of us. Currently, I have a regular Kenzie shotblocker target. This is a good target for me, but I think that a 3D model may really help my young lady learn to focus on the vitals area. Plus, they just look more fun to shoot at.
I saw this on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003K2940W/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=X2HE0SO6887H&coliid=IW3GOX1DDR43P
Anybody have any experience with this model and or company?
Thanks for your input.

Look at the glendel bucks.  I think they're a little more money but worth it.  Center insertcan be rotated so you can shoot all 4 sides.

Looks nice. The replacement inserts are $60 compared to $30 for the one I posted, but if there are 5Xs the usable area it should pay off the difference after three rotations.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Thought about these but then decided to join an archery club in my area. If you can find one close at the right price you may spend less.

Both the one you posted and the Glendel buck are great as long as you hit the insert.  Just don't shoot high or even close to a leg...huge pieces of steel in there make a mess of your arrows :chuckle:  That price you posted is a really good deal   Watch out for sneaky freight charges
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I hear you Florida. I've been considering joining a range. There is one 15 minutes from me. I still will want to continue shooting in my back yard as I have lots of space there.
You are probably very correct RadSav. My girl will most likely need a much bigger target for a while. I will probably have to put off a 3d target for several months, at least.
Thank you all for your feedback. It's much appreciated.
