wolf near 49 degrees north.

I was deer hunting this weekend in the 117 gmu when I seen a wolf about 8 miles east of the 49 degrees summit. It appeared to be injured and limping around in the timber.

How many wolves are we up to as being shot this hunting season? I wonder if this one was.

If that is found to happen enough I won't be surprised to see the state limit hunting in several areas in future years.

jumping to conclusions are we?  Being a wolf in the wild is dangerous business.  Moose aren't easy prey one kick would/could leave a wolf crippled up for life.

I say the odds are greatly in favor of this wolf being hurt doing wolf things than being shot...and living the shot long enough to be a cripple instead of dying of infection.

Don't be silly, if you've read much on this forum you know wolves have a 100% success rate and never get hurt trying to take down game. They just breed and breed and breed and never die. Once they've eaten every deer and elk they subsist on air alone, they are that super, they literally eat the air.

It could have just as easily stumbled and injured itself while chasing a deer, elk, fido the man down the road.    Who knows.
