Well today after church I had couple hrs before dark so I went checked one of my areas and had an amazing present! SILVER lol. Picked up a huge male silver fox. Then I got a nice little red that was all balled up frozen in a snare. Pretty good weekend of fur 😉

I love hunting and fishing but trapping takes the cake for me. Love spending time in the woods in the winter. We have less than 5 hrs of light right now up here so you have to be very intentional with your time. Pic of the sun setting in the woods and a reset I made after that silver tonight with a 1/16x19 camloc snare ;)

If I hunted and trapped WA and ID like I do in AK nothing would be safe! I dont think many people understand how many miles I put on my snow machines, 6x6, and wheelers ea season  :chuckle: Litterally over 500 miles on 6x6 this season, 2300 on my snow machine trapping last season and close to 20k on my truck since Sept hunting and trapping this year. Until I lived here I never had to run in 60 miles from the nearest road to find even a small population of animals. Alaska has a lot of animals but its also a stupid big place. The population density here is horrible low. Honestly I plan on hunting and trapping down there as hard as I do up here and I'm going to kills some big critters! There's a reason people like Bones get monster mule deer ea year. Most people wouldn't believe him if he told you how far in he goes for those. My first year trapping there I plan on really hitting the cat. Figure most of you guys are running 3-12 box traps. I like to have 75-200 sets out at a time  :chuckle: Big goals equal big catches, or broken backs  :o :chuckle:

Grew up trapping from about 38th street to Kachees Lake and up a couple other drainages with my dad on Snoqualmi. Use to do really good on beaver and cat. In fact we caught basically as many beaver as we wanted to skin. Really don't ever plan on trapping WA again if I don't have to. Drives me crazy that I would have to pack cages around. I can carry 5 dozen snares in my pack and go!
