What do you mean they wouldn't do that in Seattle? Probable illegal lol.

Well had my first check yesterday and it was a little disappointing. I caught one squirrel and had something stolen out of one of my snares  >:( by the lack of catch circle I'd guess a lynx which makes me more irritated. As if taking the animal wasn't enough they flagged my trail with marker tape. I'm a little stubborn, I didn't pull out of the area. I actually replaced the snare and added a second. It's on a main trail to one of my bait piles. Put a note on the trail not visible from the rd with AK state law notes on it and a reminder that now they are on multiple trail cameras so they should smile.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Well good to be back in the routine of my trapline ;)

Pick this nice red in a blind trail set. Pretty prime fur and awesome color!

Had to make a remake about 10yds down the trail yesterday because that fox made the entire area reek! If you look in the trail you can see old fox tracks. They tend to litterally fun the same footsteps. Can't wait to check those sets again should be good. Getting ready to start making hay sets as well ;)

what do you mean by hay sets teacherman?

Hey sets are the best K9 set there is  :chuckle: Most K9s run your snow machine or ATV trails and this set makes it so you can set them quickly. I take hay (not straw to heavy, freezes easy and is yellow) and create piles that I put a whole in with bait or scent. sometimes both plus a shot of pee. These pics are not from me but the exact same thing I do. A guy I know in my area showed me this set and its dynamite; pics are from him. They keep your sets from freezing and make bedding a trap in nasty weather super easy and quick. I put most on drags so the animals get off the trail. Never set foot on the ground around the set either. Step from my snow machine into my sled. Once again we are in a strange winter. It was 42 this morning! Looks like I'm going to be back to my 6x6 checking my line  :dunno:

Little dry slump this weekend. Buddy got a nice cat another shot a yote this morning and all I got on my line was a twist out on a fox set. Looked like I had a yote in it. 1/16 wasn't good enough. Did a reset scent post from the spot I snares that last fox. Put a #2 pee post in it's spot.

Lines been slow and cold, hoping that the cold snap we are having will cause some animals to move. Ice is at least good now. It was a balmy -17 this morning in Wasilla lol.
