You don't say where you live.  The river bottom in the Yakima Valley has tons of cottontails.

Sorry, I'm up in Graham, but will do alot of traveling to hunt.  I already travel to Oregon and Idaho to hunt the big hounds, so a drive don't hurt me.

You could run them in my back yard :chuckle:  My dog caught one the other day and tried to eat it.  The rabbits were thicker earlier this spring, but for some reason the population has declined by a half dozen ;).  Anyway there are still some around here.  I think they like my 5 ac fenced property because the coyotes don't come in....and they aren't too worried about a 12.5 yr old lab.

Seriously, you should listen to Jerbear.......I always read about how the rabbits are thick in the Yakima Valley.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

The pheasant release sight on the navy property on whidbey island is the best I've ever seen. lots and lots of rabbits. it s mostly  medium to small clumps of black berry bushes and some scotch broom. lots of shooting lanes to hack old thumper in.

Well ran the little guys down at Ft Lewis saturday morning and afternoon and only found 2 rabbits, both at the same area.  Ran them down at Skookumchuck today and didn't do any good, some old tracks, but nothing good.  Still needing a good area to get some younger dogs fired up.

A little yes, need to get more though.  They do a great job on the hares, I just need the snow to fly so I can get them up in the high country

I've been running the hares, you get much better races and keeps them dogs running.

BuckLucky,  I thought I was going to have another one for you this weekend, just couldn't get the gun up fast enough.  Have to wait for December again.  Did you get drawn this year?
