Do black bears really go into hibernation in Western Wa? I read somewhere that, in mild climates, sows will go into hibernation for a short while to have cubs but the boars rarely hybernate. If that is true, what are they eating in those winter months?
The 448 bears went over into the 460 where the food is more plentiful
Any bears still awake in 448? Thinking of going out Saturday for the last day, and I'm just wondering if anyone has seen any or picked up any on cams in the area over the last week or so. I get the feeling with this cold snap that there might be very few sitting out and awake still. Is it worth my time for a last-day bear?Thoughts, opinions and name calling are all welcome forms of contributing to this thread. Thanks,Stang

I've been in the 448 for the past two weekends looking for a bear and I haven't seen anything telling me that they are active. I'm seeing the same scat I saw during the deer season.

When you get a bear this time of year, depending on elevation you wont find much if anything in their stomach.
So you don't want to talk about your engagement? D-Rock told me the news. With a baby on the way I don't see as you have much choice.
Stang is ashamed of us. We aren't good enough for his future missus.
Yeah....its been a long road for him and her. First her dad didn't approve because he didn't have a house....he bought a house. Then, we didn't approve because his house didn't have a meat locker...now it does. Then things are going well and her dad helps her get a better job to keep her away from him....and she takes the job. But, he keeps begging her not to leave him...so she doesn't. Then he has one to many glasses of Strawberry Boonesfarm (who hasn't right!) and badda bing badda boom he needs to put a ring on it to make her a proper wife....daddy is not happy. D-Rock and I try very hard to be supportive, answer his late night woe is me calls, talk him through the sobbing and nose blowing but I gotta tell you its rough. He is lucky to have friends like us.

Calling is probably a good option right now. That being said if you are going to sound like a dead rabbit then you can leave the fox pro at home. All you need to do is sit there real quiet. Dead rabbits make no sound.
