Which I think is wrong. You draw moose, sheep, or goat,  there's your chance. There's no reason for not harvesting an animal. All of the seasons are plenty long. You shouldn't be able to continue applying whether you were successful or not.

Well I was thinking I'm young enough to where of I can possibly draw again if I don't fill the tag...this would drastically change how selective I would be when hunting

Plus I would get to hunt more...seems like a no brainer  :dunno:

No, its 2 years...except you can still apply for leftovers and super hunts every year.  Also, the once-in-a-lifetime rule is waived for leftover tags...which occasionally there are in some of the tougher to access units.

Couple things that help with Idaho.   Money up front,  NO POINTS, can only apply for ONE OIL per year of application, and cant put in for elk or deer if you put in for an OIL.

Drew FIRST year I put in.
Dad drew FIRST year he put in

Idaho is the BOMB

What units did you draw?  a pm would work. I put in for a unit that only had 15 permits. I knew it was slim going in, but if I drew it would have been where I wanted to hunt. That is awesome you and your dad drew!

We drew unit one.   It has taken a huge downhill turn in quality.  Too many permits and the wolves I am sure are having an impact.

That's what I have heard about that unit. Too bad, hate to see moose populations dropping..

I had the late 2 week season tag in 1 last year 11-1 to 11-15. Still seen a bunch of moose and bulls. It has definitely gone downhill a bunch but still a good hunt.  Wolves have definitely had their impact but I still got a nice bull and there were plenty around.
