I hunted there for late season mulies a few years back and there were plenty of deer to glass up but even more hunters. It was a process of glassing for hours watching groups of deer get bumped. Like most popular public land hunts I think you would have the best luck hoofing it deep into the area away from road and parking lots to avoid the competition.

Wife drew a modern tag She and I scouted it during archery season last year sept 2015 alot of deer!!Never saw a bowhunter in the three days we were there... we saw over 200 in the farmers food plot the last night of our scouting... We walked the south area, radio towers the first evening...And spent the majority of the day hiking the northwest section of property the second day.  We drove the roads on the north east section of the property...and hike a little ways in on the south east of property..again never saw a bowhunter ..

If i happen to get drawn for the archery tag and only had 1.5 days to hunt and no scouting what should i do? I know thats a odd/ ridiculous question but I can't part with my traditional late archery mule deer hunt...its way to fun.

Get drawn for what?? All the draws have been over for 2 months and this isn't even a draw area for archery in the first place as mentioned above. My first bit of advice would be to look at the hunting regs and become familiar to what is open for you to hunt. :twocents:

I believe he is referring to the 18 tags for the limited entry hunt (Charles and Mary Eder Unit) of the Scotch creek area. 6 tags go to modern, 6 to archery, and 6 to muzzy. The deadline for applying is August 14th. Maybe it is you, who needs to look at the regs and become familiar with what is open to hunt???

Let me know I believe I can get you in the middle of a deer swarm... with 1.5 days to hunt and no scouting I know exactly what I would do..We had an incredibly day one day hunt 8 opportunities at three point or better  white tails ...Then at 11 am against the rim rock bordering Canada my wife shot a 3 by 4  mulie with eye guards out of his bed ....Because of the volume of opportunities we did  not score on ... it did allow us to deeply learn that area ...more than I cared to...LOL..

Lol, anybody with a clue doesn't refer to the Eder's place as the Scotch Creek Wildlife Area as its no where near the real Scotch Creek Wildlife area. I'm amazed they didn't lump that in with at least the Sinlahekin Wildlife Area since it's twice as close. I guess WDFW can call it whatever they want. Any local would laugh. Anyhow, carry on
