Dog proof hose bib covers
« on: November 14, 2014, 07:44:44 AM »
Any ideas on what to use to cover my hose bibs on my house beside the normal styrofoam ones? My pup LOVES to chew them up as soon as I put them on.  :bash:

That is funny. My 10 month old lab just did the same thing on tuesday. I do not have any great fixes, I just replaced it with another styrofoam one and put a ladder in front of it. Has worked so far...

Maybe spray the covers with pepper spray or cover 'em with hot sauce.

Funny thing is she loves spicy stuff. I cook a lot of spicy food and it doesn't bother her a bit. My hose bibs are on each side of my house so I will probably have to figure out what to put in front of them. Last winter I tried a bunch of things and actually caught her crawling under some chairs I put in front to get to the covers.  :o

Get a small plastic bucket and screw it to the house over the hose bib and foam cover. Or do what my wife and I do with our dogs. Put them in the situation and correct with an e collar while they think you aren't looking
