I think mykiss' posts are usually very reasonable and thoughtful...he apologized for a post he apparently did not think through after a bad day...that is very admirable imo.

oh ok so he was ranitng :chuckle: and appologised ok didn't quite catch that
carry on but truth remains we hang together or hang seperatly.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

 :yeah:

This day and age, we seem to equate "different" with "bad."  I road hunted with my eleven year old daughter last weekend in 5 degree weather and declare that as pretty extreme and cool.

Unless you head into the woods with nothing but a loincloth and an attitude, there will always be someone more "extreme" than you.  There are tribal dudes who run animals down until exhaustion and slit their throats.  There is plenty of room in the world for all types of hunters.

It is hard to follow one great vision in a world of darkness and of many changing shadows. Among these shadows men get lost.

To some hunting is a hobby, to some a religion.  Some hunt to escape the modern world, some to put meat in the freezer.  For most of us it is a combination of reasons that are very personal to us.  Because of our own investment of blood, sweat, tears, time away from family, and money it is easy to say "he doesn't do it the way I would".  I used to be judgmental of others but now I appreciate that we all share a love for the outdoors and nature.  I don't care if someone hunts with a spear or a high powered rifle as long as you have respect for the animal you are hunting and the habitat he calls home.
