just an idea
« on: November 16, 2014, 11:28:14 AM »
Hello everyone!

As I skinned out my deer last night in the freezing cold last night I got a crazy idea.. Maybe I could talk a couple of you into donating some of your harvest next year to the homeless? I know its a long shot but I think we could do alot good for the community.

Any input or more ideas are welcome

I know hunters for the hungry does this. I wish I would've been able to participate this year, hopefully I have a successful late hunt and can pay it forward.

I just realized none of their participating processors are in washington, I wonder if there is some other local group?

I was thinking of asking some local butcher if they would be interested in donating the processing. It would be good publicity for them and help some folks out in doing so

I wish we had the deer and were able to shoot multiple deer like back east then I would be all over it nust to keep hunting. But when I'm lucky to get a deer on average every other year I cherish all my deer meat especially when i add up all I spend throughout the year on hunting it probably adds up to $$15-20 a lb lol. More when right now I'm on year #3 so I'm really hoping late archery season works out. I can tell you if I was homeless I would hiking east to one of those states where they do shoot 6deer a year and pretty much everyone donates to it. That some good eating!
