Feed back on Talley light weight rings
« on: November 16, 2014, 03:49:24 PM »
I am trying to save some weight on a build I am working on. I have 1 set of light weight talley rings on another rifle. They have been good and not let me down. I am just looking for more positive feedback before I mount a set on this rifle.

Thanks mine are on a 300wsm tikka. I am in 2 seasons with mine and had zero issues. The gun has taken 1 boar hog/ 2 bucks and my cousin just shot a bull with it. I am pretty much a warne guy. So I am just wanting to see if I have been lucky with my set or if they are good stuff :chuckle:

My buddy is running them on a 700 CDL in 7 RUM. He's had it for two seasons and no issues.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like my results are pretty typical and they are good rings. So I think I will put a set on this new rifle.

I got them for my t3 super light in 300wm. Heard lots of good things about them so I was pretty surprised when sighting in at the range on the 4th shot my scope flew off.  I had torqued the screws to there specs, the screws pulled the threads and were left in my reciver.  When I called them we came to the conclusion that they had been packaged with the wrong length screws so they sent me the right ones. No problems since, just make sure you get the right length screws.

I've got the Talley LW 1 piece'r on 3 of my Encore barrels. Pretty slick and zero issues.

I run them on a Christensen Custom 300 RUM and the advice I'll give is to not over tighten the ring screws. They will snap after a few shots. 18 ft/lbs I believe is max.

I've got Talleys on a Weatherby 30/06 and a Browning A bolt in 223 WSSM. Never any issues. I love the simplicity of them. Mounting a scope with Talleys couldn't be easier.
