I found a knife on the wet side today. Tell me what it looks like and an approximate location and I will send it you in the mail. Please use a PM.

Just a shot in the dark, but was it a black CRKT tanto folder with some rust on it?  Lost it almost six years ago.

I could send a spreadsheet with all the knives I have lost!
Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh I donno, I sing in the shower? Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me-- no, don't sue me. That is opposite the point I'm trying to make.

Did it have orange bailing twine around the sheath?

No it didn't have orange bailing wire around it.

It was not in a case and it was very recent. It was on top of snow that was about 24 hours old when I found it.

No sorry. This knife was on the Yacolt Burn. If you know anyone that lost one up there, send them my way.

Is it a cutlass with gold and jewels imbedded in the handle?

I suppose I'll throw out a guess: was it my pink Hello Kitty knife  with a plastic blade?  :)

I'm really curious how so many people are losing knives in the woods. Are the slipping out of your pocket? I keep mine in my pocket with the clip attached to the outside. I can reach just my thumb into my pocket and draw the knife this way. Had the handle break off once, I guess I got lucky there that it slipped into my pocket and I noticed it. Benchmade replaced the clip for free. My brother spent $300-400 on that knife for me--no way would I throw down that kind of cash!

I lost my Schrade SP8 folding gut hook knife during the late buck season in SW Washington. It has a black zytel handle. Somehow it ended up out of the sheath. What a bummer too. I've had that knife for so many years and dressed so many elk and deer with it. I hope it's the knife you found. Even if it isn't, thank you for being kind enough to try to find the person who lost the one you found.

Usually lost gear for me comes after a nice fall. I've had it happen where the little snap on the front of the sheath gets undone in the fall, and it makes its way out before I realize it.
There is something just indescribably painful about being stuck behind a prius on the interstate.
