Blacktail buck in GMU 564
« on: November 16, 2014, 10:23:47 PM »
Just curious what you guys think.  Is this a big backtail or an every day type buck.  Not trying to say that any blacktail buck should be considered insufficient considering how elusive they can be. Sorry about the blurry pics.

Decent buck. Not a whopper or anything though.

564 has much bigger. He is a good buck and if hes smart he will thicken up in the next couple years.  Keep an eye on him!

All he needs is a few more years to be an exceptional buck!

I do believe that 564 has much bigger, but only because of all the private land to hide out on.   ;)

There's hardly any place to hunt in this unit!

The private land is definitely a problem when trying to hunt this unit, along with firearm restrictions.  Luckily I have a total of 600+ acres that I can hunt.  Unfortunately it is not all in one piece.  When it comes to this buck he obviously does not have very much mass but I don't think I have ever seen tines that tall on a blacktail.

I have seen some toads in the Battle Ground unit over the years.  I have shot some great bucks as well.  Lots of deer in that unit.
I would definitely shoot that buck.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

600 plus acres?!?!   Are you looking for a hunting partner?
