Pictures are great in regards to subject matter and composition.  Just need to get yourself a photo program that works easy for you.  There are tons of options form free to very expensive.

i just got vista and the easiest way that i know now is using paint. open the pic with paint (right click on the pic) then go to image and goto resize/skew. in the section that has resize it will say 100% in each box, i just take it down to 50 in each box and it turns out this size
