Best Goose Guides in Eastern WA
« on: November 17, 2014, 11:37:44 AM »
My older brother and I love to hunt ducks, go all the time but we thought it might be fun to get a guide and go goose hunting over winter break. Been looking at a few on the internet but its hard to tell who is good. Any Suggestion??

Bill Saunders is a good option.  Eagle lakes.  Paul Sullivan.  A few decent options and they have been posting up a ton of hunting pictures lately.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Id book with big guns. Bill saunders, John Plugoff, mike, etc flat out kill birds.

I've always gone to Aaron Echternkamp for the past 7 years or so.  Many of the other suggestions which will be offered on this thread will be good too but Aaron always seems to have things dialed.

East side or west side?  No nothing about west, but Eagle Lakes would be my 1st choice on east side. Went there a few times 5+ years ago and had some good goose and duck hunts.  One time got the goose egg but was able to get another hunt in at no extra cost to me which at the time they guarantee you will have limit opportunity.  But if you can't shoot then that is the hunters problem and pay up.

I went with bill saunders big gun outfitters a couple years back. The guide, John Plughoff is a friend of mine and an excellent goose/duck hunter. You will have a great time. It was a blast.

Last time I made a call about goose hunting it was gonna cost me $500 for my son and I but that was a few years back. I didn't go based on the cost and the fact that it is a free for all when geese come in. No regulated shooting. Everyone unloads no matter what comes in untill birds quit falling and/or shells run out. Not my cup of tea.

Is it a standard practice with guided goose hunts to let the birds land in the decoys and then shot them as they lift or does it depend on the guide?

:yeah:  John is a good guy I went to college with him- I have never hunted with him but I know that he knows his stuff when it comes to bird hunting.  If I ever would go on a guided hunt I would be going to him
