Nooksack Quality Buck Down
« on: November 18, 2014, 11:04:42 PM »
GMU 418 Blacktail

It took 6 years for me to draw this tag and it all came together this afternoon.

130 yard off hand shot.  My Savage 116 in .270 win with a 140gr Sierra Game King HPBT and 55.5gr RL-22 was good deer medicine.

Nice buck! That's the first one I have heard of coming out of that hunt this year.

My brother and I both had the permits and filled our tags.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Nice buck!  Maybe it's just the light/camera flash but the winter coat looks quite reddish, almost like the summer coat.

Didn't get the weather and snow to make that hunt what it could be.

Ain't that the truth! The permit hunts ended today. Wind and rain start tomorrow.  :bash:
