Why don't they just charge the amount they would make in interest for the application? I think they would be money ahead?

Id be lying if I told you guys that writing a check for my moose sheep and goat apps to Colorado Division of Wildlife for 5400 bucks was any fun... then throw on deer elk and antelope on the CC and................... :o

lets add another 6k for Wyoming. More cash for Arizona and 4 and half K for NM Mexico plus 2k for Idaho sheep app and 2k more for Montana.............. and good lord :yike:

That's over 20k on hunt apps....

New Mexico sheep has been $3,000 for as long as I remember. I don't see were they get off on charging that much. Except for the fact that they have desert sheep. Montana's rocky's are every bit as good as N.M. if not better.

I wish WA would go back to the old system and require the funds upfront. It would weed out a lot of the nonresidents that are not required to buy a license, just the app fees. It would make our draw odds a lot better.

Nevada changed last year or the year before.

If you apply online with a credit card you are charged just the application fee.  If you get drawn then they charge your credit card.  If you apply on paper you have to front the tag fee.  That is how it has been the last four or five years.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I don't think the game dept. can draw interest on your up-front fee's,I think it is a law!

I have been told that is what they do.  If it is against the law or not I don't know.
