Bolt-action Rifles chambered in 5.56
« on: November 26, 2014, 08:46:58 AM »
Has anyone had experience with either the Ruger American Ranch rifle or the Mossberg MVP Predator?  I am thinking of getting one or the other and was wanting some input.  It would be nice to be able to use the same ammo as my AR in a bolt-action platform.

I can speak to the LBA trigger that my Mossberg 100 ATR in .308 has.  It is probably one of the best factory setups out there.  The rifle delivers better accuracy than I could have hoped for.  Not sure what the Ruger Ranch provides though.

Haven't shot a bolt action 556 but, what's that pump action 556 that takes AR mags? That's a fun one, my buddy has one.

I have a CZ 527 FS and love it,

I 2nd the CZ, it's one of my favorites, but mines in .223 :tung: :chuckle:
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I smoke two fish in the morning, I smoke two fish at night, I smoke two fish in de afternoon makes me feel alright

I picked up a MVP in 556 " for the grandson " and I'm impressed !
I have some high end guns and thought this little gun would b great starter
for my young grandsons , but it found it way as a permanent truck gun :)
And it shoots sub MOA with a load I already had built !! Thinking I might pick one up
in 308 you know for the grandkids :)
This place protected by God and Guns trespass and you might get to meet Both !

Here's a short article on the difference between the two rounds.
A accurate 5.56 may not shoot 223 so good.
