My wife bought me the top of the line Mathews Z-Lite back in 94 I think it was. I have harvested many nice animals with that bow including my 08 Washington moose. It cracks me up to listen to all these guys pumping their chests up talking about their new 350 fps bows with state of the art engineering, and coming off as though anything else is inferior.

Like any modern firearm out these days its more about shot placement than anything else. All my kills have been with one shot, right through the vitals and I can guarantee not one of these animals gave a rats ass that my bow didn't have state of the art limbs or risers. Its about shot control and confidence, both of which are more important than just buying the newest, biggest, baddest gear on the market.

I am all for reading about everyones excitement over their new gear, don't get me wrong, but lets not forget that not everyone on hear can go out each year and upgrade. Its nice to read about new technology and the advantages it can give you but please don't disparage what others may have, we have one MM and I'd like to keep it that way.

I'm with EastWaViking, you can't go wrong with Hoyt, Bowtech or Mathews, they are all quality bows. :twocents:

my last bow before this year was my 1999 or so Clearwater.   Just getting too old to carry that heavy a bow..... :-)  SO I had to upgrade!

This morning my daughter opened up her bow and she hasn't stopped grinning yet.  She wore her own new Hoyt hat ALL day long and wouldn't take it off for nothing.  She had to take her new bow to my sister's for dinner tonight so she could show the rest of the family.  I think I made the right gift choice.  :)
