Kuiu icon pro or Exo pack ?
« on: November 27, 2014, 01:08:58 PM »
I know this is like asking the endless Mathews/Hoyt question.  I wanted to see if anyone has had experiences with both packs.  I am mostly concerned about carrying heavy loads. I am 6'6" so I am leaning towards kuiu for the fact that there xl has a 1" longer torso length.

i am tagging along, because I am torn between the KUIU and Stone Glacier......Exo was in third place for me, but interested to hear the feedback.

I've used both. The exo is head and shoulders above the kuiu as far as frame and suspension is concerned. I like the kuiu bag a tad more but that is the least important thing to me when considering a pack.

I've used both.  The exo is built like a tank. Works well, no worrys about loading it down.  Nonetheless I use the kuiu ultra because it's so light - about 1/2 the exo, it's a great day pack that will carry anything you want to put on it.  I packed out moose and deer with it this year and it worked great.   The icon is the same pack with more bells and whistles than the ultra.

Here's a guy with 2 elk quarters and the bull antlers on his ultra 3000.
