being watched while fishing today
« on: December 19, 2008, 08:40:13 PM »
today i was fishing the green my tacoma headworks on the green river and seen cougar tracks in the snow as i walked down to the river. got down and started fishing and about 10minutes later i realized something didnt look right about 30yds across the river and about 20ft up the opposite bank from me. it was a young cougar just sitting there watching me fish. plain and day s/he didnt care at all. it was soaked and must have just crossed the river as i walked back to the truck with buddies and decided to hit that hole one last time. the cat just walked its way back into the trees just as one of my buddies got down to me.

sure wish i had a gun to pop that cat (if i was able to hunt that area, idk if we can or not)

Crap, you should have flipped your bait onto the other shore. I caught a neighbors cat with a bass plug when I was a youngster. Put up a pretty good fight. Screamed like hell!  :chuckle: Silly cats!

Just for the record I didn't rope a bobcat, just run him in the sage until he got desperate and jump upon the horse, I quit the chase, couldn't get him out of my lap fast enough.   :bdid:
