Beautiful fall day
« on: November 30, 2014, 07:25:52 AM »
Went out a couple weeks ago after chukars on a crisp, clear day, and got to take my Syracuse Arms O grade 16ga out for the first time.  Birds have been flushing wild, and this full/full choked gun is a fantastic shooter at medium to long range.  Only saw one covey, flushing a bit wild true to form, but dropped this bird like a stone at 45 yds with 1 1/8oz #5's.   I like shooting this gun so much, I've since converted it to a straight grip and am sprucing it up with some custom artwork.

My setter Briar was a happy boy also:

Briar is looking good.  Too bad about the low bird numbers, but congrats on the shot.
