Filson Boots
« on: December 02, 2014, 04:57:29 PM »
Does anyone have or use any Filson boots?? I just came across a pair of Insulated Highlanders at their outlet store for $269.00. There was one pair, randomly in my size and are normally $420 so it seemed like too good of a deal to pass up and I bought them. They feel great, comfortable as heck, but I'm concerned about moisture. They won't call them "waterproof" only water resistant. I will use them almost exclusively for upland hunting. Any thoughts???

Well .. I guess no one on this Washington forum uses boots made by this company based out of Washington called C.C. Filson ... It was worth a shot!

I've got some I took from my grandpa's closet after he died. Seem well made, but I haven't really put them through their paces because they're too nice to take outside and get all torn up.

They're probably not calling them waterproof since they're not Gore tex lined. But for upland bird hunting they should work very well (assuming you're hunting eastern Wa.). They will breathe better than Gore tex boots, and your feet will stay dryer because of that.

unfortunately i don't think their boots are made here any more.  i've seen them at the factory outlet and they do look like they are good quality, though.  i'm not sure about the value though, you could get a pair of kenetreks or USA made danners for what they're asking.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
