New bow sight

So I am going to eat my words.  I went to a HHA single pin slider and love it.  Great on the range and in a tree stand.  Problem is when you doing some spot and stalking a single pin slider sucks  .  Like that deer I snuck up on in the late season.  She had be pegged behind a big brush pile our guess was 30 yards which is what I had my sight at.  I drew and stepped out from behind the brush pile and though she was more like 20 yards so I adjusted a tad low and shot.  Guess what it hit a tad low because she was at 27 yards.  I know I would have the same problem if I was shooting a multiple pin sight.  The problem I had while we were stalking deer is constant ranging and move my slider as we moved closer.  I think the single pin works good in a blind or tree stand.  I am looking at either the Field Logic IQ Micro 7 or 5 pin http://www.basspro.com/Field-Logic-IQ-Micro-7-Pin-Bow-Sight/product/13031306063724/ or the G5 Outdoors Optix XRhttp://www.basspro.com/G5-Outdoors-Optix-XR-Bow-Sights/product/10202528/.  The problem I had with multiple pin sights is that the pins seemed to just blend together.  Maybe that was because the pins weren't that small.  What do you all thing?

You could go with a three pin slider, and get best of both worlds.

I have been looking at the Black Gold Ascent. That G5 has 3 fixed pins and the floater for anything about 50 yards so that also is kind of the best of both worlds.

Didn't care for the G5 as the pins didn't seem bright enough for my liking and the level bubble being blue was hard to see also. Used a MBG 3 pin Ascent slider this year and it was better but after having to move to adjust past 40 I still had to remember that I moved it. If I have to remember that I moved it why not keep it simple with one pin, so I will probably switch it back to a single. I will give the 3 pin additional time during the 3D season before I make the switch back. Love the MBG sights

Just need to shoot that single pin more!  I leave mine at 30 most of the time.  I practice shooting 20, 40 and even 50 with it set at 30 just in case.  I know that at 20 I really do not need to do anything.  Practice has shown my two main hunting bows shoot between 2.5 and 3"" high at 20 if my sight is set for 30 (4" low if I shoot 30 with my 20 - not exactly sure how that works) . I can either hold center heart or adjust the sight if I want to shoot a grouse in the head.  At 40 yards I shoot almost exactly 6" low using my 30 pin.  I can hold center spine or adjust the sight.  At 50 yards I shoot 16" low when set at 30.  Which lucky for me is darn near exactly centered between my bubble and the fiber dot on the pin...pretty easy gap shoot there!  But usually at 50 there is plenty of time to adjust the slider.

With a little practice you really do not need anything more than a single pin out to 50 yards if shooting at big game.  But you need to document what you see when you shoot it set at 30.  Repeat often and bring to solid memory.  When I used to shoot a lot I would shoot six arrow groups using a Vegas three spot.  One arrow at each spot with the sight set at 30.  Then adjust the pin and shoot another three arrows.  Doesn't take long before you can not do this or you are breaking arrows!  Human brain is an amazing thing!
