Late muzzle 460 rut?
« on: December 03, 2014, 10:15:44 AM »
I spent 4 days of my Thanksgiving weekend out hunting in 460 and didnt have any luck. I saw multiple sets of does with no bucks so I am assuming the rut is over. Anyone else have any input and where they might be?

I haven't checked my cameras recently, as in not in the last 2 weeks or so, but on the 14th they were still all rutted up.

This is December, the rut is definitely over. It's done by mid November.

That  buck was all over a doe who was in the camera 1 minute prior.

Saw a spike with a doe today. Then later just saw a few more does. Unit 460.

I'm thinking it's pretty dead. I'm going into bush wack mode tomorrow.  I had a doe come up behind me on the same trail I was on. She walked within 20ft of me. I thought there would be a buck somewhere near, but no luck. That was the only thing I saw today. 2-3 weeks ago they were cruising all over this area.

I have 3 cameras in 460 for a buddy of mine. The bucks were rutting hard when I checked this past Sunday. Several bucks with does.

What were the dates on your pictures? Anything recent?
