Ok I'm a gear junkie but I haven't got the gloves down yet. What's everyone running for gloves? I wear mechanix gloves when it's dry and not freezing cold. Looking for a more versatile pair of gloves for bad weather. Kuiu guide gloves? Bow or gun hunting.

 My favorite wool gloves have been discontinued by the manufacturer Wells Lamont, and the ones I have are getting old. Im in the same boat Jack, looking for a good comfortable replacement, that actually keep my hands warm.

I have a thin pair of cabelas gloves made for bow hunting. I wear them in the cold as well, but will put a "hottie" either in the palm or the back of my hand. You'd be surprised how effective that is. My hands usually don't get cold, so rarely need anything thicker, especially when moving.

For wet conditions I like Glacier Gloves.  Sometimes a little clammy, but good grip and dry warm.  They can be kind of tight and hard to remove if you need to make a quick shot, but a few types can have thumb and index fingers snipped off.  They are great for rowing on the icy/snowy rivers.

Outdoor Research, ironsight gloves, light enough to shoot with, add a silk liner if it gets cool. They are not a cold weather glove but work well for me off season as I am moving most of the time. I keep a pair of fleece gloves in the pack for when it gets really cold. The ironsight gloves were plenty warm for me last week in W. Wa when it was cold.

I have been wearing the military surplus green wool gloves for 30 years. They stay warm when wet, I carry a spare pair in my pack, and they're inexpensive. I prefer wool over the newer materials.

I spent the bucks and got the Kuiu gloves since all there stuff is so well made.  Absolute CRAP!!!  Can't believe he put the Kuiu name on those things.

Sitka shooters glove is nice, but they do wear out fast.  Nike golf gloves are great if you don't need a warm glove.  Not sure if you can find Morris-Feel gloves anymore, but they are one of my favorites for moderate cold weather.  I have a pair of Dickie's gloved that are ten years old that are absolutely fantastic.  They don't make them anymore, probably because they lasted like iron and no one needed more than one pair every eight or ten years   Allen shooters gloves are a good investment too.

I usually hunt with a pair of gloves that have Gortex in them. When its not super cold, I like a pair of plain old deer skin gloves without lining.

No luck with the Kuiu of Sitka gloves for me. I continue to run cheap fleece gloves that fit loose when I'm in cold conditions.  Also I've had good luck with wool gloves. This is one of the only items where I don't feel money buys you the best.

with the wool gloves, you can spray them with the camp dry silicone and they usually stay drier longer, especially in snow.

I also am not too impressed with the kuiu gloves and liners, but only when they get wet.  And they get wet easily, when it's dry out, I did like them.  They fit well with the liner, but unlike wool, they don't stay warm when they get wet.  Wool gloves seem to work the best when it's wet out, I like the one's with the removable fingers cover.

Big 5 used to have the Morris-Feel gloves.  I haven't been in a Big five in about 12 years. Maybe I should stop in and see if they still have them

I wear my snowmobile gloves.

true adventure gear is the brand I have currently, but my gloves are a few model years back and differ a little bit from the new ones.

They're made to grip snowmobile handle bars so you have good feel sensitivity.

I have some archery gloves that make room for the lease for archery.

I have a pair of liners and a pair of Swany winter gloves.

I only need the liners if I am sitting for long periods of time in 15 degree or lower weather or if the wind chill is driving hard.

Swany makes ski /snowboard gloves and this is designed for hunting.  the trigger finger is wrapped a little tighter to fit in the trigger guard and is of the material used in the palm to give you more feel than the camo.  I haven't had to test them in anything other than wet snow.

I know they aren't the best possible option, but I spent the last couple weeks in single digits and teens and was pretty happy with them.  I have had them for a few years and haven't worn them a whole lot.  I think these were a lot more affordable than the Sitka ass well, but again I bought them a few years ago and can't remember the details on cost.

 Yep, my wool gloves have thinsulate in them and have been fantastic, but the finger pad area has worn through a couple spots where I focus my binos. Out of all the gloves Wells Lamont manufactures, I cant believe the ones I liked the best they no longer make.

I dont like thick gloves so when its cold I use a wool liner glove in a medium weight cabelas polarstretch(or something) glove.  Then I have a cabelas muff.  Ill throw a hand warmer in there if its really cold.  Hands stay roasty.  Fell asleep once when it was in the low teens and hands were sweaty when I woke up.

When its warmer ill simply drop the muff and liner.

If you are doing longer treks in you may get cold hands if you are carrying things and cant tuck your hands away.  I walk in around a mile usually.  I switch hands every minute or so if its really brisk and put the other in the muff.

I use mechanics gloves around camp. I  then switch to Blackhawk nomex flight gloves (black) for hunting. If it is raining really hard then I switch to Sealskins. I also use Sealskins on the boat and I keep a pair in each vehicle.

yes, I saw that.  I was trying to investigate whether they were discontinued and it appears they may be, but that is the style I would be looking for if you want "true cold weather gloves".   I will be looking for a brand/style that will replace these.

My favorite gloves are a pair of leather gloves with a slight amount of thinsulate, 100 grams I think. I got them at cabelas they aren't anything fancy but they've held up great and with some good grease are fairly waterproof. Can't shoot with them on but they are loose enough fitting I can flick them off to shoot quickly. For warmer weather I have just a pair of elk hide gloves. Super cold weather I have a pair of cold weather cabelas gloves, nothing special I'm in the market for a new pair I've been looking at the kuiu super down mits with the merino liners.

I've been using Manzella gloves the past few seasons. The set I have has a grippy palm with a soft shell like outer on it. They have a nice fleece lining inside as well. I believe it's one of these.

Have a couple pairs of the old school Morris Feel Gloves. They have holes in them from years of use but boy I tell you they are a nice wool glove for medium to lite weight.

I wear these arctic shield gloves and love them.  If its not too cold I wear the inside glove.  Then during cold times, I put the mits on.

Most of the time when I wear gloves it's a pair of fleece ones with no finger tips, you can get them with the silicone stippling on the palm for better grip.  If I need to go full finger I get a pair of winter bicycling gloves from Performance Bike. But I don't have a problem with cold hands si it's usually the fleece fingerless ones.

I just ordered the kenai series from Kuiu for a cold/wet glove.

Run mechanix for cold/dry, wool for waterfowl/fishing.

IMO you should layer your gloves just like your shirt/sweater/jacket  Soxs Wool/poly pro

I LOVE outdoor research over mittens and have also had a pair of Marmott overmittens that workded well. I normally wear wool,  or a pair of fleece/ leather fingered gloves under the cover. I also keep a couple of pair of gloves that are pointer finger less for shooting. 

These might be my next set of outer gloves. OR makes the best Gloves and Gators IMO They also make a bad ass Bivi sack.

I use SILK cold weather inserts to wear with my fingerless wool gloves. They work great. You have to get the heavy, winter type silk inserts.

I've used those surplus wool gloves as well, and got a large pair of rubber fishermen's gloves to stick them in when using the boat all winter.  I have to handle wet lines and other wet things in the boat and this was the only thing I could get to work decently.

I have yet to find a pair of insulated "waterproof" gloves that stay waterproof for more than a month, let alone a season.  Weathergirl won a gift cert for Evo Outdoors and bought a pair of gloves.  They ended up being too big for her, but fit my small hands.  The second time I used these "waterproof" gloves, one of my fingers got so wet I thought there was a rip in it, but there wasn't.

By chance, I found a pair of these on Black Peak. I liked them so much I replaced them after I put holes in them splitting wood all winter. Great compromise between warmth and dexterity. Like any glove, they will get soaked but take them off, ring them out and you're back in business.

For cold weather bow hunting, I have used these combined with a mid/ light manzella bow glove.  They also make a wool version with various insulation options.  Really easy to pop you hand out of the mitt when needed.  You can keep a hand warmer packet in it too.

Most of the time I use a pair of Flex Tech work gloves. If it's wet, I line them with some mechanics poly gloves, (like latex gloves). I use the poly gloves when I process an animal in the field. Both are very light in the pack. I do have a pair of wools with the sticky pads, or a pair of RedHead 'water proof' gloves, but they are NOT water proof.  I haven't found a style that is. I used to use a pair of neoprene fishing gloves but they wore out and my hands were too warm anyway.  If I know I'm going to be in really cold/snowy/windy weather, I have an old pair of Head gortex ski gloves. They're pretty good, but not something I could shoot with.  Like others have mentioned, your better models of motocross or ski gloves seem to provide the best protection from the elements.

So... Tagging this thread... Just in case someone really has found a good product.
