Post I-594, They want more...
« on: December 05, 2014, 09:53:10 AM »
http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Initiative-594-group-calls-for-new-gun-measures-284801571.html

The group also wants families and law enforcement to have the ability to secure a "gun violence protection order" when a mentally ill person threatens to harm themselves or others. The orders would help keep guns out of the hands of the mentally unstable, coalition member Margaret Heldring said.

The coalition also wants tougher scrutiny of gun ranges to guard against lead poisoning.

As proposals move through the Legislature, the group will keep a scorecard to determine "which legislators stand with us on sensible gun policies and which legislators stand with the gun lobby."

The nose of the camel is under the tent....and now that the Anti's have their inch, they are now reaching for the mile. Anyone with any sense will follow the progression and see that they will not be satisfied until private firearms ownership is eliminated....then we will all be safe.....Right?

Yeah...lets see how well that worked around the world throughout history...Not so much.

I've noticed over the decades of the anti's insisting on trampling OTHER folk's rights, While they call this common sense...and compromise....its the gun owners who do all the giving.

SO, I'm proposing that with the "universal background check" in the interest of improving safety, after all we teach about the dangers of alcohol, about safe sex, how to drive a multi-thousand pound weapon and how to avoid strangers.... Lets also add an item that is in at least 1/3 of the country's homes...Firearms safety training. There are non-judgmental programs out there that are age appropriate. In fact, lets return firearms training as a part of extra-curricular activities. When I was in school there was a Jr High and a Sr High Rifle team, a trap team and an air-pistol team. So in the interest of fairness and inclusivity so that 1/3 of the citizen's children are not left out of an important part of socialization, lets return the teaching of firearms safety to the schools where it belongs.
A Smith & Wesson Beats Four Aces.

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

What we have here is...Washington Department of NO Fish and WATCHABLE Wildlife.

WDFW is going farther and farther backwards....we need FISH AND GAME back!

I like it woodswalker,I too learned how to handle firearms safely in a school program. My grandaughters are on archery teams in the state of Kentucky right now in their elementary school, one is in 5th grade and the other in 3rd. I beleive there is also rifle teams down there :dunno:not sure. Kentucky is looking pretty good right now.

I'm not sure if they are still going on, but from 1998 to 2003 or 4 I coached a .22 rifle team in Chehalis.  We shot against Centralia, Blackhills, Tumwater, and Shelton.

You'll never get it in the classroom as most "educators" only want to educate to their agenda.   :bash:  This from an ex-teacher....

The anti-gun zealots will never stop until it is illegal for any citizen to own a firearm.  Gun owners that voted for I-594 made a very BAD decision.  The very ominous and damaging unintended consequences of I-594 are just starting to surface.  However, it is likely the anti-gun backers of I-594 wanted all of these "unintended consequences" to happen; they are doing their anti-gun happy dance right now.

We are losing our freedoms folks.
