How many times have you violated 594 so far?
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:03:45 AM »
We are 4 days into it, and I have violated it 4 times.  I won't say when or how.

What is everyone else up to?

Stang, I love your posts, especially those professing undying love for DR. This post is not smart. It's inviting a visit to your home. I would take it down.

I've violated the law at least twice now. But I don't expect the police to come knocking on my door. The state patrol has already said they're not going to enforce the law when the protest is going on in Olympia. So why would they bust me for admitting that I handed a rifle to my brother without going through an FFL?

Jump out of the truck that your buddy is driving to open the gate... violation.
Let someone touch your gun who thinks they want to buy it... violation.
Let someone shoot your gun at a pit... violation.   :nono:
Let a friend borrow a gun to hunt with, but that has to drive through a GMU that isn't open... violation.
Hand your gun to a buddy while crossing a fence while hunting... violation.

I'd love to see them come to my house and question me on exactly what I may or may not have done to violate this law.

Almost forgot, sell a boat that comes with a flare kit... violation.

They'd be really busy building the case against me.  May never get to actual trial because they'd spend years compiling the violations.

I love that I can build an AR lower for a "modern sporting rifle" :chuckle: and stick a .50 BMG upper on it, without any background check or FFL, but if I go open a gate and leave my gun in the truck I've broken the law.

To be totally clear for LEOs watching, what I did was loaned my gun to my buddy who was coyote hunting with it at the time the gate was being opened.  Also, when I allowed him borrow it briefly to go hunting for coyotes while inside the house, he couldn't find any coyotes and handed it back to me.

Every transfer of hands was actually in the act of hunting coyotes.  :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

Actually, that's two violations.  One apiece.  For crossing a fence the way we were taught in Hunters' Ed.

I have never, or ever would intentionally violate a firearms law... :chuckle:

While this thread was probably meant to be taken in jest- or somewhat tongue in cheek.
It addresses the significance at the crux of the problem.

To understand this law we have to 'dream-up' unanswered questions for every possible scenario.

I was trying to compile a list of the questions we have so far- there are too many and to do so should be in a separate thread..

Some are easy -
Definition of transfer-
18-18 year old transfer in Hunters ed, or on the range- or in the field on the way to hunt..etc.
When reporting possession or ownership of a pistol acquired upon the death of the prior owner- what is being done with the information?
The tax collection responsibilities.

Sorry to side track - carry on..

I am not sure.  The media and anti-gun people said it was to close the loop holes at gun shows.  I haven't been to any gun shows since it went into effect.  So, I should be good to go.   :chuckle:  When the sheeples ask, that's my story.

You have unearthed the big loophole in the law. Just make sure everyone you are handling guns with has a valid license for coyote Hunting and the understanding that you are officially in the act of hunting. Coyote is open 24/7.

Um, I think not after dark during deer/elk modern seasons in Sep, Oct, and Nov.  Otherwise, hunt away, I know I sometimes have problems with them in my basement and living room.....   :chuckle:

I think only the no hunting would disqualify it.  For firearm restrictions and no shooting (depends if bow, rimfire, etc), I think you can carry stuff even if you can't hunt with it.  I see no reason why Lokidog couldn't hunt yotes with a bow and have his AR collection slung over his back.

Yeah, just reread it.  Saw that it said temporary...so as long as you plan to get it back sometime in the future, like a personal pawn shop.

if it was transfered (temp) In this scenario it would be legal then to take it off the grounds also.As long as it doesnt get given back off the grounds.

So if a cop comes a knocking or stops you and have done any transferring of a gun it was to protect your persons.  Officer I feared for my life when I saw you coming have you not seen the cops and how they just shoot unarmed people and choke  them  to death I needed to get the gun for my safety.  It was an exception in the law so you could use the liberals stupid actions against them!  Just a thought.  This law is *censored* and is not going to stand in court.  My new shirt says it all!
