A coyote for the wall
« on: December 09, 2014, 12:32:21 AM »
Well I got this nice fluffy hide back today. Michelle Nelson sent it off for me and it turned out great. This one was from the madness a couple years.

This coyote was the first one I have ever wanted to keep for myself as a hide. He was a good sized yote with a lot of black on his back. He is also one of the fluffiest coyotes I have ever killed.

The local handy man just pulled up and was going to do some work on the dryer vent. I walked out to meet him and saw a coyote out in the front pasture moving along. I slammed the door and ran back in side and grabbed the closest gun. One of my older night hunting rigs. I went fly out the door and he said what are you doing. I think he thought I was going to shoot him :chuckle: I said I am going to shoot a coyote.

I found the coyote and he was just over 400 yards. Most of the time I won't shoot at them that far because I hate educating them. Close to my hose is where I make the exception. There are better choices for 400 yard coyote shots then the 223. So I get settled into a rest on the fence. Right when I get ready to shoot the guy comes walking up from behind me and says you ain't going to hit him, he is to far. I get lined up and wiff him but just a little high.

The guys laughs and the coyote runs a little closer not knowing where the shot came from. He stops at 370 and I get lined in. Bang center punch and he goes to spinning. The guy says wholly "bad word" you got him. He spins for a few seconds then stops and I punch him threw the shoulders. I look back at the guy and his jaw is hanging.

He said I don't want to piss you off. I said then you better do a good job on the dryer vent :chuckle: We both busted up laughing. So with the story and as pretty as his coat is I decided he can hang around here for awhile.

What did that cost you?
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Gringo I have traded with Michelle. So I am not sure what it would cost. This one is a soft tan.
