I picked up a Cabelas brand that seemed quiet.  I wanted to try these because if they fall apart you can get another pair.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE KENNETREK.... I have destroyed two pair in one winter.... they just don't hold up.

I like the OR gaiters quite a bit.  They are tough.  They are also pretty loud, don't expect to sneak up on anything.

I just got a pair of Sitka gaiters that look really great. I'm looking forward to testing them this winter.

I really like my Sitka gear.  But, the gaiters lasted me about four days in the alpine.  Older Kennetrek lasted much longer!  OR last the longest, but it better be really rainy to sneak too close to the average critter.

I wear OR gaiters and have had the same pair for about 5 years.  They work really well and the fit amazing.     Good Luck.

I like the kennetrek, but wore 1 pair out in 2 years.  I don't know how long they should last. I will buy them again, because everyone else complains about how noisy the others are.

I don't think the OR's are noisy at all.  :twocents:

Be the guy walking behind the person wearing OR gaiters.  Might change your mind!

My farts don't normally bother me at all :chuckle:

Mine are. I wouldn't wear any other in a snow hiking scenario, the quality is top notch......but they are noisey as heck. Maybe a different model or something.

This is the model I wear.  My legs don't rub together so that doesn't make noise.  I mostly wear them in rainy wet conditions and have never had a problem stalking animals.   I archery hunt so I have to be relatively quiet.  The velcro is very noisy if you try to put on or take off in the field....though I put them on and take off in camp....never in the fields.

I took  my old wool pants that had the crotch worn out and had my sister in law cut the middle of each leg and make a pair for me.
