Hello Everyone

,
First I would like to congratulate everybody that has had a successful season. I have enjoyed reading the hunting adventures and seeing the photos. Nice job and congrats and thank you for sharing!

Now my dilemma, I have been archery hunting mainly on the eastside of the state this year and I have not had any success. Wait, I can’t say that, I have had success every time I get out, I just have not tagged a deer yet this year. I have had several fun and exciting times, but I have always just been out of range or decided to pass for whatever reason (not a clear shot or what not). I live north of Seattle in the Bothell area now and have been making long weekend trips over to the eastside and up to unit 101. Well, my wife has asked me to stay a little closer to home because of the weather and driving distance and what not… which is fair in all aspects (we have 10 year old twin girls, a 14 month old boy, and she is pregnant again, so I should be closer to home right now). She is 100% supportive of my hunting trips and it is not like I head out every weekend, just a few here and there, but because she has asked me to stay closer and there is only a couple of weekends left, I don’t mind.
This leaves me with two areas that I know of that are close enough to come home in the evenings, 407 and 454 for late archery, this intertwines with late muzzleloader and I have a feeling there will be a lot of people out and about in these areas and I am not sure if I would be able to find a place to setup without interfering with another hunter or being interfered by another hunting.
So my questions are:
1) As an archery hunter hunting in an area that overlaps with muzzleloaders, should I wait until after the 15th in these units? For safety and success reasons?
2) Any recommendations on a good place to park my pickup and hike in on either unit or any recommendations on a different unit I should check out that is a few hours from Bothell? I have the onX Hunt app and use it frequently. It has been a few years since I have check out either unit though. I have hunted 407 and 454 in the past, but it has been quite a while.
3) Should I look at different GMUs all together? Maybe go goose hunting this weekend instead?
4) Anybody else heading up to these units and want to meet up? I don’t have a lot of friends that hunt over here, so it would be great to meet new friends and possible hunting buddies.
5) Anyone else have daughters that are into archery? I am getting my girls into it and it would be great to have some ideas on bows for them.
I am really hoping to fill my tag this year, and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. With all this rain I am thinking I should not sit in a stand and I should hike and stalk, but muzzleloader hunters (and some rifle hunters) scare me

. Please feel free to PM me with any helpful ideas. Thanks again!
Thank you!
Jim
