Anyone using the Eberlestock Micro Condo 1-Man Tent or the Lightning strike fire starter? The lightning strike fire starter is very innovative.

$60 for a ferro rod! I'll stick with LMF or FireSteel.com for that amount of cash.

I didnt watch the whole video but all it really seemed to do was "funnel" the sparks at the cost of weight and bulk. Instead of holding the fire steel fixed in place and scraping it with a striker (or knife spine works too) do it the opposite way. That is to say hold the knife flat and down close to the tinder pile. Then drag the fire steel out from under the knife. I suck at explaining it but this is how I do it and it keeps the sparks from going all over and they are hitting the tinder when they are at their hottest not having had to fall through the air before landing on the pile (every little bit helps).

" No sparks are wasted....this takes care of that problem."  Too funny.  I will stick with my old mousetrap.

For $60.00 you can get a Bic lighter and $59.12 in change.
