They could get this going with min.tax hikes just by getting the several volunteer groups involved with these areas.
there are a  lot of volunteer groups too so ya I'm sure!

There is no new tax in this legislation. The model toxics control act was passed years ago by the voters in this State. :hello:

Hope this isn't too prying.
Is the existing tax raised?  What was the money previously used for?  How will the previous recipient of that money make up for the money that would be used by WDFW for this endeavor?

If hunters don't believe these legislators are friends of the hunting community then I'd like to know who else they have to champion our heritage?  :bash:

curious if any private landowners let WDFW know "this is what it will take for us to allow access" so the bill gets put forward.

Or if it's a shot in the dark.  I figure some timber company said they wanted some garbage clean up and some assurances before they allowed access.

still won't keep 'people' from shooting up trees, rutting up roads and driving off road and such.

The existing tax is not raised.
:yeah:

Not sure where the tax increase mindset came from??

All it would do is use a small portion of the current tax money for this purpose. No increases

Haven't voted yet.  There was a question, as yet unanswered... where does this money go now from the toxic whatever tax and how will that entity make up for some of their $$ being taken away?  Will they have to create a new tax on something to keep their revenue flow going?

Basically it wasnt being used before just collected and now they are going to use it for this. There is a lot of collected tax money in this and every state that isnt needed and doesnt get used.Sometimes taxes collected are only allowed to be used for certain things. This money would have been money not being used but will be being used for this if this goes thru,Giving everyone more access to more land that they might not have been afforded before.

I voted yes. But I was skeptic reading threw it.  It just seems like it starts out good then just ends up costing us more.  I think we as hunters need something like this though. We need to improve relations between hunters and private land owners.  We all want more opportunities and better hunts, and frankly with all the thread's on garbage left behind it more than obvious that it would be a problem. There's always going to be that guy/gal that leaves trash or rips a roost threw every mud puddle.

Okay so maybe I'm just a pessimist/skeptic, but you guys are trying to tell me this tax was in place for years collecting and the money was accumulating and not being earmarked.  It has been overlooked all this time and no politician in the tax and spend state of Washington thought to use it for anything.  A state 'strapped' for cash that is laid of teachers and had four day weeks at colleges or puts off infrastructure or cancels midnight basketball for at risk youth or etc, etc, etc never had a use for this money.  Then why did they have the tax in the first place?  Is Olympia just taxing people for fun now? Maybe they had SO many different taxes they just lost track of them all.  Man, am I seriously missing something?
