Been slow, we've had some weird weather here, cold , warm, cold , warm. The birds are here, just the weird weather patterns we've had.
Is it waterfowl season yet..............

Nice, did you guys hunt from shore or boat?

The last time I hunted that (90's) we launched from the north dike and had to push through ice in places with my Zodiac.  We didn't do as well as you.

Seems like there's always a bunch of birds flying over there. We hunted from the shore. A lot of iffy spots walking on that ice to get there.

Went there yesterday and got the goose egg could of got one drake.  Found a pond with no ice but there is still lots of ice on the main body.  Very few ducks in the air and heard only a few other shots.  Also heard lots of boats crunching through ice.  Another week turned into another week to get more open water to hold good numbers in the area again.

Don't look like duck meat will be hatching in my freezer for this summer and fall like this year did.
Don't read my post if facts hurt your feeling.

If you know a good spot the bird's are there for sure! Seems like it's been weather dependant hunting.
