I was there for a couple of hours. I wanted to see more show up, but a lot of people were coming and going, so a count is really tough.
Saw KING and KOMO set up, talked with a reporter from the Olympian for a minute, she seemed open minded, but I also saw her interviewing someone who might have just crawled out from under a rock.... :bdid:

"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

yes nearly a 20% margin. How many voted for this but didnt realise until now what it meant? There are foolish voters all over the state that are asking questions about this law that voted for it,Understanding only now that they were against it.The fools in an election is why we wont allow mob rule,Just because you have a million morons doesnt mean the rest have to go along with stupid.

This is why I really hate voter initiatives.  Most voters don't educate themselves enough to made a good decision on how to vote.

Voters simply read what was in the voter pamphlet and listened to the lies in the ads for the initiative.

I'd like to think that if voters would have read all 18 pages of the initiative, the vote would have been much different.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Sadly Rallies only help the anti's both in legislature support and public oppinion via media... While i understand everyones frustration and think the law is crap many of those who showed up did themselves and the cause a disservice. Instead of taking your AR and being dressed in tactical clothing (saw one pic with a patch that said Mall Ninja  :bash: ) Perhaps everyday close and your hunting 12 ga would have been better slung over your sholder. 2 reasons. 1 with facial recognition that is soo good you just announced tot he world your "non documented" weapon your trying to protect. Second we need to look and sound like the general population not a bunch of "Mall Ninja's".  I was VERY pleased to see Pics of good looking laides packing pistols openly wearing normal attire... That spreads the message of "normal". I think its good to show up and let the powers that be know we are unhappy, but i doubt its effectiveness for several reasons.

They had more than 300 protest in olympia in 2014.People there wore reg. clothes off the wall clothes,Not much clothes, clothes of all sorts why should we worry about looking diff. in the eyes of the people who allready think we are diff?Sorry I see what your saying to a point (mall ninja) that is for the first and I know they dont have a prob. with the first,You can see that plane as day in the papers and on the tv.The truth is they dont like what they dont understand. They are not worried about the real problems they have,They have to make problems up.

Look we dont disagree on the issue Stevemiller. We both agree that the media give our side the short end of the stick. I think "mall ninjas" hurt our cause but im not so sure its the tipping point of winning/loosing the argument.

Im happy there was a big turnout because if there wasnt then the media would really sell us short(er).

Your right they dont like YOU because your a proud liberty loving American. Im happy that YOU and many of my fellow Wa citizens are proud of our rights and determination to get the word out.

It is much harder to "sell" your message when your distracting from it by wearing clothes that set you appart. The message has to be sold to those on the fence or those not "engaged" in 2A issues...   When i go make a sales call for the first time i wash my truck, dress sharp, and come prepared to present myself. I dont wear my rattiest carhearts and my greasy shirt. (despite the fact that i do dress that way some times when im "working")   Immage wont make the sale but it will close doors. That is all im trying to say.

Your right and what im saying is it doesnt matter,We have been putting the buisness class people out front for years and no matter what it gets flack some how or another.I think people should start wearing more fur, more of their tan hides, more of everything. We have stopped doing so many things they dont like just to appease them and for what?nothing not a darn thing.Do they back off because we dont transport on the hood of a car?No they complain when they can walk up to a truck and see it in the bed.Do they back off when we stop baiting bears,Stop using dogs,Change the style of traps used,Once again the list is endless. We have let them push us for years all while we stepped back and gave in to their whimms. It will not stop.

I think we should do those things you mention, but on a personal "regular" basis. I have some rather pointed 2a shirts i wear in public, and am not afraid to clean my game in my driveway where others can see. I do not hide from ignorant blather by doo gooders.... You MAY be correct that putting our best foot forward isnt gong to change the way its played in the media.

I view this issue much the way i do with Open carry. I have seen many of the self made video's of open carry advocates. Most make it a point to get into a confrontation with Leo's or others. The reality is that its and Education opportunity. When some one asks why your OC and you hand them a pamphlet describing our rights, or has somthing inteligent to respond with they do a service instead making a problem.

Washington Initiative 594  Result:
                     Votes                           Percentage
         Yes       1,242,734                    59.27%
         No         853,990                      40.73%

Sadly for all of the griping we do, the people of Washington did speak and they spoke loudly.  Nearly a 20% margin.

Technically, it is the very few active voters of Washington speaking loudly, not the people of Washington.  From them is silence.
In many places voter registration is only as high as 60%, and of those registered turnout is about 30%.

So as you stand in a public place, marvel at the fact that one in six voted and every other person you meet received a ballot in the mail and threw it away.  Put another way for I-594, if you have a room full of 30 people from Washington.  Two people in the room voted NO, three people in the room voted YES.  The other 25 people did not participate.  We need to get the other people that can vote to take elections seriously or dumb stuff happens.

You nailed it.
I get just as mad at the pro-gun folks who don't vote as I do the anti's that did.
