Big Thank - You to Radsav !
« on: December 13, 2014, 06:06:20 PM »
My son Kyle would like to thank Radsav for turning us into a different direction . Most everyone knows that when it comes to broadheads I am strictly a Wasp kinda Bowhunter . And the same for kyle . This year Radsav finally convinced me to give his broadheads a shot . Well I have not had a chance to stick one yet but today Kyle done it for us . this New Savora is every bit of what a Wasp is . it shoo. Shoots exactly like a Wasp Boss . I had my bow shot in with my Wasp and then screwed on a New Savora and stepped back to 30 yrds and let fly . There was no changes what so ever . I like the low profile blades and the chiseled tip for penetrating bone and this broadhead done just that . Wish we could have stuck a pig of a buck but just has not happened and I do not teach my kids to be trophy hunters . The more animals they get to draw on and kill is what making a good bowhunter is all about. That being said I would like to thank Radsav for his knowledge in bowhunting and I sure hope some of you guys get a hold of Radsav for his New line of heads and also congrats to Kyle going out on his own without dad and getting it done ! Not the biggest buck on the block but well earned !
                                                                         Thanks Radsav ! JB   .

The heads BH45 has are a first run.  They had a few issued with inconsistent pin locations.  They work just great, but fit is not as good as it should be for us to sell.  Just this past week I got a new small production run off a new program and run on a new machine.  They are perfect!  Unless the anodizer messes them up we should have them ready by Christmas.

I am still debating what I am going to do with the 2,000 first run ferrules.  They worked flawless in testing, but blades are a little hard to get in and out.  I might make them available through one of the H-W dealers at a 50% off or something.  I should make a decision on that in the next few weeks.

Another bit of great news.  The new machine and new program is also making some great titanium heads right now.  Unless something falls apart between now and the end of the run we should have those by Christmas too!  Even better news is the new machine is running them faster than projected so they should be a little less expensive.

Been a long frustrating journey getting these heads right in design and right from the machine shop.  Looks like we can finally get down to business and stop bleeding Bengamins'.  Guys like MLBowhunting and BH45 have been extremely valuable in this process.  Thank you guys

As a wholesale manufacturer we do not sell direct to the public.  Hate it when manufacturers end up being their customers biggest competitor :twocents:  I will post who our H-W working partners are as soon as things are ready.  Meetings Monday and Tuesday...so should have something to post Wednesday or Thursday.

I'll take a dozen 125's

A 125 grain version of these super short broadheads won't be available until next year.  They are so flippin' short we actually need to add a 15 grain collar to get them up to 100 grains.  A 40 grain collar would be huge and result in strength and alignment issues.  Even in a four blade model we have been unable to hit the 125 grain target.

We do have two 125 grain heads scheduled for this year, one in titanium and one in aluminum.  They are basically the same blade profile as the original Savora Contender 100.  Only difference being is we are using a thicker blade this time around.  That is the same head I've used for the past 20 years.  Also the same blade MLBowhunting has been using.  It's a great product, but blade length is almost double that of the TripleSec, Madman and Titanium Signature.

The 125 grain version will go into a testing phase as soon as these initial run titanium heads are completed on the machine.  Our hope is that we will be able to make the ferrule from 316 stainless steel.  Problem then will be getting a design light enough to hit the 125 grain limit without running the price out of reach.  That will make it one of the more difficult products to make as it will require some serious scalloping of the ferrule.  I will make sure they meet with D-Rocks approval before we send them to production :chuckle:

Any new news Radsav?  I'm anxiously awaiting an opportunity to get my hands on some of these broadheads!

Madman and Triple Sec are getting packaged this week.  Working a deal out with Carpsniper so we can get some H-W folks a good deal.  OF course at the ATA show we will be talking with many of the other NW Pro-Shops to get heads stocked up as well.  Titanium Signature models are due to arrive this next week too.  May be another month and a half before I get the Ti-Con, Ultra-Con and Super-Flite heads ready to ship. I made a mistake and did not make the blisters large enough for those three heads so waiting on blisters.  We have a great supplier for those so that should not be an issue at all!  About the same time frame to get the 4 blade Madman heads out the door.

My first shipment of Super-Flite heads was made to the wrong ferrule profile.  Those heads are suppose to have a profile all there own.  For some reason the outfit made them exactly like the Ti-Con 100 without the rear scallop.  They are a great little head!  Just not what we wanted the end product to look like.  I'm going to blow out the 1,000 ferrules that came in wrong at a HUGE discount!  I'm thinking we can send a six pack in a poly bag for something like $15.00.  They may end up 99 grains instead of 100 grains, but I don't think anyone will notice.  MAP on the correct Super-Flite will be $24.99 for 3/PK.  So that is one heck of a savings!!!  This is the head I designed for my wife.  She did all the field testing with it including her Big Unicorn bull at 54 yards and the antelope she broke the shoulder on with a 45# bow and still got complete penetration.  Doesn't look fancy, but boy does it perform!

Here is what the wrong SF head looks like.  Normally the point will be just slightly bigger and the ferrule taper slightly less.

Great looking product and local to boot. I'm gonna have to wait for the 125s though. Does the projection look good for a spring release?

Of a 125 grain option?

We do have the two larger 125 grain heads available as soon as the new blisters arrive.  So yes those will be available by spring for sure.  As far as the all stainless HPV, LPS and LPV models to hit the 125 grain mark...I don't see those being available before the spring seasons.  We will need to do some durability testing on different grades of stainless and heat treating.  I think that will take us past the spring release.  Now that the bugs are appearing fixed in our supply chain issues I would think we can have it completed well before the fall seasons.

But, don't look past the current 125 grain offerings.  That is the same blade profile CL, the Angry Squaw and I have used on the majority of our animals the past 20 years.  It is more proven than any of the others!  It is also the profile you've seen used by MLBowhunting the past two or three years!

New RAD and Savora website should be completed in about a week.  My brother and the graphics designer were working on it throughout the ATA show.  Should be up real soon.  May tak a little while for the JPhelps videos to make it on there due to my time frame.
