Archery help?!?!

Im looking to get started in aarhcery shooting and hopefully hunting......... New to this so I need help with evything pretty much.......advice on where to buy and what and how and so forth basically newb to all thing archery....I have shot a few bows but no experience with it........Have hunting big game for 10 years though and have taken many deer at bow range with a rifle...HELP please thanks

Go to your local archery store...not one of those sportsmans warhouse places.  Go to the smaller guys that live and breath Archery!

best thing to do first off is what was said above, ONLY go to a PRO SHOP.... then decide on your price range and  next shoot as many bows as you can in that range until you find the one that feels the best to you (it should be a HOYT!! lol ) after you find that bow, decide on the best sight/rest/arrows you can for your budget.. the next thing i would do and personally I think this is the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do, get a few lessons from a instructor, I do this at least a few times a year to go over form or the mental part for me, but for you it is crucial to LEARN the CORRECT way to shoot a caliper release and what good form feels/looks like, you learn bad habits very quickly when starting something new if you do not know what "right" is so to speak.. so learning the "right: way out of the gate will set you miles ahead of most, myself included.. I had to learn the right way after a year of doing it all wrong!! then after you have a good understanding of form and release.... PRACTICE...PRACTICE....PRACTICE!!!!!!!

In Spokane, there is Spokane Valley Archery.  I went there a couple weekends ago and seem like nice guys and very knowledgable.  Hoyt would like it since it looks like they all shoot Hoyt's.    There's also Dalton's Archery.  You can find both on the web.

Like Hoyt said practice and learning the right way to shoot. I thought I was doing good and then talked to the instructor at Spokane Valley Archery and what an improvement. Of course I did have to update my equipment, his exact quote was my bow was used to to kill dinosaurs WTF! But I did buy a new one, 7 years ago.

I would avoid Spokane Valley archery.  (not because they shoot Hoyt)

I used them in the past, and they are over priced and ego maniacs.  I have not found a good
archery shop in the Spokane area, and I have tried them all.  White Tail Plus in Deer Park is OK.  But
I have not used them since they got new owners.
The Sportsmans warehouse archery shop can be ok, if you get the right person.

Agree with everyone above go see your closest archery shop,  shoot many bows and buy the one that fits your budget and feels best to you.  Bow maufacturers and archers are a lot like the NASCAR fans,  there bow is the best...... I shoot what feels best to me.  Of course I had to go with a Bowtech!    But really shoot them all and pick the one you like the best!  A good archery shop with excellent customer service will not only fit your bow to you and help you in tuning it,  but will help you get the accessories that work best for you.... stab, rest, release etc..... with all that said welcome to bowhunting!

Agreed, I was lucky enough to do a little horse trading with them and saved some money. My cousin goes to a shop up in Newport or Priest River, he seems have good luck with them. I,ve got some ego maniac friends that tell me to buy a new bow every other year, problem is that I like mine and it kills the same as his new ones. Comfort factor beats all IMO.

The Sportsmans warehouse archery shop can be ok, if you get the right person. 

Dan at S.W. is pretty good.  Seems to know his stuff and is an all around good guy.  Always takes the time to talk about whatever.

I remember going to some place in Spokane Valley a few years ago that seemed like a nice shop.  They had indoor and outdoor ranges as well as a 3d course.

That was probably Spokane Valley Archery.  The indoor range is only 20 yds which sucks cos I want to get my bow sighted in.
