You can get the Grizzly Stainless Steel 15 lb stuffer for around $200.  Still have some to spare.

Is the Grizzly like the LEM? Want one with metal gears, no plastic

They look to be nearly identical and yes, the Grizzly has metal gears.  It also has a heavy rubber gasket around the plunger head.  It is a nice unit.  The whole thing comes apart for cleaning too.

I get an add for Grizzly about weekly, never looked to see if they have this type of equipment. Thanks. I'll check it out.

Those woulda been real handy while i was processing my moose! Although my beer consumption would have been drastically reduced as my slow 450 watt grinder takes a while to get through lots of meat. More beer time!

That 1 hp is really all you need Mike, unless you do start up a side business with the local chinese restaurant...mixed with veterinary...

seriously though... I do moose, elk, deer... somewhat on a yearly basis for about 3-4 years now with my 1HP and its fantastic...

SO... take the other back... use 1/2 of the $$ to get wifey something nice and 1/2 to buy a stuffer!

I bought the Dakotah Stuffer, it "looks" slick as (you add analogy) but I haven't used it yet!

Well I returned the second grinder today to the Post Falls Cabelas. I was relating the story to the service rep about the double, and the guy next to me said.........Did you talk about that on HuntWa........LOL
Nice guy. but for the life of me I have already forgot his handle. Mountain something I think. Anyway dude.......I think I'll keep this wife and not trade her off........(yet) ;)
So if you are in the market for a grinder, they are still on sale, just not as good of sale as a few weeks ago.

Come on Ernie we need the review of the Dakota stuffer. I'm in the market, but worried about all the other stuff I've read

I have the 1 hp- grinds as fast as I can feed it. I guess if you had a big grinding party with multiple animals bigger/faster might be handy. For 1-2 animals at a time the 1hp will likely be all you'll ever need.

The second time through the grinder is where you really notice the difference between the grinders.  I'll agree with the 1hp grinding as fast as you can feed it the first time.

quadrafire... that was me you bumped into at Cabelas.  I was going to show this thread to my wife... until you mentioned the offer on my part to trade wives.  Just to set the record straight, the trade would have been only for enough time to get one of those high flying grinders!  In retrospect... probably better hang with our little ladies.  Mine has been with me going on 48 years.
Great meeting ya... keep that grinder busy.
