Happiness comes in Two's
« on: December 18, 2014, 08:32:14 AM »
Well at least one of us is happy (ME).

Cabela's had their grinders on sale recently and I plunged on a 1HP. Good deal i thought as I have been looking pretty seriously, and had the points to do it without cash.

WELL unbeknownst to me my lovely Bride was going to surprise me with the same. Hmmmmmm wouldn't have crossed my mind in a million years she would have even thought of it. Anyhow the UPS guy had quite a load yesterday ( he thought there was a mix-up. I said yes mine)

She's not real happy with me right now :chuckle:

Note to self: Don't order gifts for yourself around Christmastime.   ;)

Funny,
I bought the 3/4HP last week. My wife found a couple $20 Cabelas cards, and said I should order something. I told her I wanted a new meat grinder, and she said "Whatever makes you happy". She should know better. That gigantic box showed up and she said "This is a meat grinder?!"

I'd personally take them both back and exchange them for their biggest commercial grinder.  I use the 1HP, but have used the 1 3/4HP and will say it is twice the grinder as my 1HP.  Both great grinders regardless.

I just looked it up. Don't think I want to spend that much more now. Thanks for the info though.

Remember the kids folk song. Mr Mr Johnny Rebeck, how could you be so mean. For grinding up all the neighbor dogs in that machine. Or something along those lines. I used to sing it to my kids when they were little.
That 1 3/4 could be dangerous around my place. LOL

Clearly you need a lesson in personal finance. You have 2 grinders valued at $489.99 each, for a total of $979.99. The 1 3/4hp grinder is $714.99, leaving you with $264.99 to buy something nice for your wife. She'll be proud of you for being frugal, and she'll get a nice gift to boot!
