Check out this web site, looks like a pretty good sale to me. Camera comes with a one year warrenty. Lenses are what are going to cost you.  :chuckle:

I haven't looked into this but someone sent me this in my messages so I figured I would forward it to everyone:

"Don't buy that camera from Sonic Cameras.  There are a lot of rip off fraudulent stores and that is one of them.  To find out if a reseller is reputable always go to resellerratings.com and check out the reviews from other buyers.  As you can see, if it is too good to be true it usually is.  I hope you didn't get ripped off...  "

Basically watch out for any stores from New York.  EXCEPT B and H photo.  90% of the rest are rip-offs.

I was thinking the same thing the 50d on there is $500 something, if the deal is to good something is not right. When I bought my Canon A2 one store kept adding things to the really good deal untill it was more expensive then just buying it somewhere else. This deal sounds like the old bait and switch.

cameraland ny is great to deal with as well.

ritz camera is selling a 40d with a 28-135 IS f3.0-5.6 canon lense for $1200.00, i can't possibly see that being a $800 lense...something is fishy. they are selling that same kit for 800.00

We just got one at the school off of EBay with a couple basic lenses for 856.00 That came with a 28-70 f2.8 and a 70-300 f4.5 lens. Not quality lenses but they work good for the kids to break.  :chuckle: :chuckle: The body is the same. The body by itself I can pick up for around $550 any day on eBay. Never had a problem with eBay either. The one time I bought a scope from a guy on there and he never shipped it I got reinbused. Took a couple months but its not something a big company is going to deal with.

My experience with the cheap NY stores is... Be prepared to say no A LOT, and you will get
a great deal.  They will try to sell you more stuff, and warranties, just say no over and over and over.  You will save a ton and get the same new product.  Also, they are rude, but to save a couple hundred bucks it's worth it.  I think I may buy the D40!

Are you going Nikon (D40) or are you going to call on that Canon (40D)? Let me know what you find out as well, I just might have to pick one up myself.
