Yup.....   although if you pour enough money into that thing, it will run with the Savages.

You mean a factory MSR? :chuckle:

Lipstick on a pig.......   It's still a Remington.

The good news is, you can send it back to the factory and they'll replace the trigger for free.     :chuckle:

Ever shoot one?

I bought the stainless fluted walnut remington CDL... Just about the nicest under a grand rifle you can get from remington... And I'll tell you, the nicest out of the box rifle for a grand(in production) isn't a remington.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Nope.

And I'm just messing with you.

I've had GREAT luck with Savage 111's (me and 4 kids;  all of the rifles shoot very impressively).

But, I don't have experience with much else, so for me it really is Ford/Chevy/Dodge.

I suspect you have more experience than I do.

I am old and tired, and off to bed so I can wake up and go to work.   Millions of people on welfare are counting on me!

Good night.

Interesting. Seems we have a very divided house between the Tikka and Savage guys.

Browning, Tikka and Savage. Had a great ABolt that was a legit <3/4 MOA rifle with factory ammo, sometimes shooting 1/2 MOA to 400 yards. Appearance and feel aside, never heard of a Tikka that didn't shoot well. Savage makes some ugly rifles, but they shoot well too.

Yes, some of these sub $1000 factory rifles can hang with some custom built $3000 rifles. Benefit of them is you get exactly what you want. Components, accuracy, weight, look, feel, everything. At the end of the day if you just want a rifle that shoots great and gets animals on the ground, no need for a custom (coming from someone who has one).

Cheapest 110 im finding is $691msrp.  Tho the 110BA looks sweet!

$599 for a 10T and that's their "tactical" model with the bull barrel, etc.
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Savage174-10T-Tactical-Bolt-Action-Rifle/1695199.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3FrecordsPerPage%3D18%26No%3D0%26N%3D0%26nl%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3DSavage%2B110%26search%3DSearch&No=0&Ntt=Savage+110

The .300 I have was $479 at cabelas and it came with a Nikon scope.

I have a model 10 Bull Barrel myself. It's a tack driver, but it's a 308. That's what I use for long distance shooting out to 850 yards. The package is right at $1300 because of the Surefire brake.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

You probably just don't have any experience with a Savage. Not sure why you wouldn't understand otherwise. I'm not anti-Tikka. Savage is indeed a great out of the box shooter at a great price. You can't argue that.

I have the Tikka 300 wsm with a 4.5 - 14 Leupold...makes a nice combo as well.  That being said, I shoot similar groups with my old .280 Remington Mountain Rifle with the same scope.  I have friends that swear by their Savage rifles.  It comes down to what fits you.

the savages are sloppy poorly finished , you can ssee the bullets in the mag with the bolt closed , but they shoot ! they are meat and potato's kinda like a t3 what you buy is what you get . if you want a moa gun then a savage or tika is a good bet . if you want to be able to ad on then cost wise a rem is hard to beat just so many parts . take rem with a timmey trigger and bedding job any day .
