We are? What? He is on here saying to steal? You applaud him? For coming forward?
Yes I applaud him for admitting he took a trail camera.

Great....adding a few usernames to my memory bank in this thread.

Just wow.....

So if you took a trail camera, you wouldn't come forward?
I wouldn't take what isn't mine. I don't like to put words in other's mouths but I am sure Jackelope is on the same page here.

Inuendo, wasn't he an Italian proctoligist?

I'm hoping this is just a really successful troll. I hate thinking there are actually hunters like this out there. Although we all know there are. They are the ones stealing are trail cameras, animals, antlers, and gear.

If it is indeed a troll then it is a pretty poor use of ones name and reputation considering his name and business are all over the web.

Well, I guess it was nice of Dave to come forward and answer the question the OP asked about "Who steals trailcams".  At least he explained why he and his brother steal and how they justify it in their minds.

I've always wondered myself who steals trail cams.  It has been confirmed I think.  Thieves steal trailcams and they have their own little justification in their minds that allows them to do it without conscience.  :twocents:
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

So next question is... what would you do if you found a trail camera on your private property that was posted no trespassing?  Hope this isn't jacking the thread too much.

GO COUGS!

I would own it.
At least I'm honest. Someone broke the law to put it there on my land.
I'd refer them to the sheriff if they wanted it back.

Posted and my land, now my cam.

There are of course some variables.....

Say I checked the card and it was a local youth that may have made an honest mistake. A talking too and maybe a Saturday of chores would be the ticket to reclaim the cam.

Lots of what ifs in that scenario but bottom line...private property.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
