Beaver Lake, Skagit County

For those few using Beaver Lake Boat Launch.
Forget it if your  boat is  over 12 ft.

Some weeks ago a large chunk of floating reeds and brush broke lose from the east side. Right where guys with smaller boats use to drag their boats to the back channel.

It floated around the lake for awhile and now has come to rest right in the boat launch. Totally blocking it. Saw two real small boats struggle around the end this morning. But our 16 footer no way.

Contacted the local game agent to see it the state could clean it out. They are looking at it.
Hunted Clear Lake instead .

That Island has been drifting around Beaver Lk. for years. It's smaller than it used to be. My family refer to it as Waldo Island because you never know where you may find it. Usually it'll plug up the launch when you get a north wind for a few days. When the weather turns to a normal south wind it'll go to the otherside of the lake. It's kinda neat to watch.

Hook a big anchor into it and drag it off if you can.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

You weren't lying, that this is a small island.  You probably can get it moved now or it may have moved this morning with all the water and high wind last night.  Someone should anchor that thing or tie it off away from the launch, so it doesn't happen again.

You can hunt it but you need to be away from the houses and realize that the sherriff or game warden will greet you upon your return.... people there dont like it but it is legal in the SE side of the  lake... setbacks from building so that your safe...
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
