Tell me this: if it were someone in Muslim garb carrying a sword, how would you feel? If the answer is that you would feel threatened then this guy is no different. Still a threat and still a really weird weapon to be carrying in the woods. My

I simply wouldn't worry/care if I hurt someones feelings by callling 911 if I felt it was warranted. My gut tells me the first guy is hiking, scouting, something. Maybe his worst offense is trespassing knowingly or not. 2nd guy, simply looks like he is up to no good. His demeanor, his clothing, his sword, his posture....everying makes my gut question his motives. I'd rather be wrong, made fun of, whatever...than not listen to my gut and have things go bad. When in the field I try and conduct myself in a manner, armed or not, that does not raise suspicion or alarm. If I conduct myself in a manner that leads someone to question my motives and they feel the need to have me checked up on, well that is their right.
Sorry, just how I feel. Again, sheathed, no problem. Holstered, no problem. Carrying a sword or a pistol out - my bells are all going off. So, I'm a pansy I guess. So be it.

I don't want people calling the cops on me when I have done nothing to warrant it.I have no issue with giving the guy a wide birth, and I would, but theres no reason in my mind to LE involved.

Not a problem Baker. This thing is we can't control how people perceive us. So, if we conduct ourselves in a reasonble manner then 99% of the time it will be non issue. So, if and when it does happen it will be very infrequently and simply not an issue.

How often do you walk around in the woods with a sword in your hand? I've been approached by literally thousands of armed people in the woods. Not one was carrying a sword in his hands. Ever, none.
