Nothing bad about the machete thing unless you look like a serial killer. :yike:
But the Hot Dogs sound good.. :chuckle:

Were I walking with my girls and we came upon someone with a sword in the woods, we would immediately be taking another route and dialing 911. He may be quite innocent. I wouldn't be assuming that. I would let the cops sort that out.

This is fun,  but I am willing to bet that you wont see either of them again,,,,,man #1 I agree with someone else stated that he is possibly  working for DNR or fish and game (good possibility) and is probably just traveling through. Guy #2, in the third picture, has his body, face so close to the camera that I bet he has seen it, and does not want to draw attention to him self, he will not steal the camera but he will not travel that trail again.

I'd be more willing to say I was the guy number two in the pic than admit I have  "bear grylls" machete...

I am not sure of that Fool...   I have done some activities and they just walked on the property to check something out and came back.  They do NOT need permission from the land owner to go onto the property if they suspect something illegal is going on.

As a side note, I am not sure 257's woodblock is illegal as long as the wood receptor has a choice.  Sorry 257, I could not resist.  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

You would call 911?  Why?

He has every right to carry that sword,  odd,  but not necessarily up to no good.

No, a sidearm wouldn't bother me. A sword? That's a little different. Tell me this: if it were someone in Muslim garb carrying a sword, how would you feel? If the answer is that you would feel threatened then this guy is no different. Still a threat and still a really weird weapon to be carrying in the woods. My  :twocents:

Guy carrying an unsheathed sword = not normal.  I'd also be wary of a guy carrying a long gun shouldered, or an unholstered handgun.  Not criminal, not normal; my spidey sense would be tingling.

I'd also be more wary of a guy with his pants around his ankles, vs.  belted around his waist.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

:yeah: We he walking around holding the sidearm, I'd also be alarmed and would likely do the same thing. Where this guy walking with that sword in a scabbard, I probably wouldn't do more than raise my awareness as we passed, and put the girls on the other side of me.

Shoot, even a guy carrying this would make me nervous, maybe easier to disarm but potentially deadly nonetheless.  :tree1: :pee:
Just tend your own and live.
