attic hunting
« on: January 08, 2015, 12:14:51 PM »
The Cat Lady next door feeds all the stray cats, has 2 huge bird feeders, and throws a big bag of peanuts out for the squirrels every day. I have lived here over 20 years. Never had any stray cats living under all my cars, and definitely NEVER had any squirrel problems. Now they are digging up all my vegetable planters killing my stuff to hide the peanuts that rot..........and WORST of all now.......they have found their way inside the house...........
THIS MEANS WAR!!
Crossman Airgun cleaned and oiled.........got my camos on..........getting ready to "go in"............
They seem to be in the crawl spaces of my attic...............
Got a good mind to pop the little bastages and toss them over the neighbor's fence........... :yike:

Watch caddyshack for a few good pointers on rodent control. :chuckle:

At the hardware store, they sell some heavy gauge mesh that you can use to reinforce your soffit vents, which I would check to see if that is where they are getting in.  I've had problems in the past with the old cheap screen that was installed on the house.

I back up to a green belt, but squirrels seem to go around my yard for some reason.

Oh and squirrels don't like peanut butter mixed with oats, if you are interested in keeping them around at all.

22 long CB caps. Killed many a cat in NY with them. 1 1/4oz of # 6 in a 12ga work well also, just a lot nosier.

Squirrels eat good ! Sounds like you have a readily available supply. Kind of surprised that with all the cats around you would have a squirrel problem unless the neighbor is keeping the cats to fat. Can you get a trapping permit for a nuisance problem ?

Don't stop in the attic.... Work the ones trespassing in your yard too.

There is no greater respect to have for wildlife than to harvest an animal fairly and use it's flesh to feed your family.  ~me

Prep the cleaning station and make room in the freezer.
I spent a few years in the midwest. They eat good!

Pavement, crowds and inaccurate rifles...
Thanks anyway.

Do you need a permit for nuisance eastern greys and a cage trap?

Find some Aguila Super Colibri Ammunition 22 Long Rifle 20 Grain Lead Solid Point puts my pellet rifle to shame all I hear is the hammer drop. I've done rats, starlings  and crows with ease with them.  :bfg:
