Trophy Pintail
« on: January 09, 2015, 10:32:14 PM »
Last week before the big flood in the sno-valley I managed my first pintails, two drakes. I had not ever even seen pintails where I hunt and was surprised to see hundreds. I shot the first drake, a immature bird but still very beautiful and I was ecstatic.

I brought him to my truck and decided to head back to the blind for another 30 min or so and as I was thinking about heading home when this single drake comes whistling from behind me, screaming into my pond, and he fell to the first shot. I was blown away when I got him to shore, I have been using a fishing pole lately as my pond has flooded 2 times this year and the water went from 1-2 feet deep, to over head height now. This bird is perfect in every way.Been a great season for me all around.

Enjoy the last few weeks everyone!

The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!
